Air Fryer Gnocchi
These Air Fryer Gnocchi are so unbelievably addictive that you won’t be able to eat just one. These little potato dumplings are tossed in extra virgin olive oil and a delicious blend of spices and air-fried to be golden brown and crispy on the outside with a pillowy soft interior.
I am a total sucker for gnocchi and never get tired of its pillowy softness. I have been on a bit of an air fryer kick recently and decided to try air frying gnocchi to eat as a snack. This is now a family favorite snack in my house that my 4 year old daughter loves and requests regularly. The gnocchi is tossed in a simple mixture of herbs, grated parmesan and arrowroot powder and then added into the air fryer uncooked. The air fryer cooks the gnocchi resulting in the most delicious gnocchi that is crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. I love serving these with tomato sauce to dip. This is a great snack, fun dinner or crowd pleasing appetizer that everyone will love.

Ingredients You Will Need
- Gnocchi: Potato gnocchi is the most common gnocchi, but sweet potato gnocchi or cauliflower gnocchi would also be delicious. Frozen gnocchi will also work great; just be sure to thaw it first to get the best results.
- Olive oil: I love using extra-virgin olive oil for these, but avocado oil would also be delicious.

Modifications & Dietary Customizations
- Use gluten-free gnocchi instead of traditional gnocchi or cauliflower gnocchi or sweet potato gnocchi to make them grain free!
- If making homemade gnocchi is your jam, then go for it! Fresh gnocchi is a bit time-consuming, but not complicated.
- You can modify these seasoned gnocchi by adding onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, or red pepper flakes for more spice.
- Add more herbs like parsley, basil, or even a sprinkle of Italian seasoning as a great alternative to the oregano.
- Make it dairy-free/vegan by using dairy-free Parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast, or leave out the cheese altogether.
Making These in the Oven
These air fryer gnocchi are a great recipe to also make in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. and spray a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. Toss the gnocchi with oil and all the spices, and then add the Parmesan and arrowroot powder. Roast for 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through until golden crisp.
All Things Gnocchi
Gnocchi is usually found in the pasta aisle at your local grocery store, but you can also find it in the freezer section if you’re looking for gluten-free.
- You can use any type of gnocchi for this delicious recipe, but I definitely love using fresh, pre-made gnocchi.
- Cauliflower gnocchi is quite fantastic and should not be overlooked! Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi is quite popular and loved by many … and it’s gluten-free!
- Making your own gnocchi can be time-consuming, and there are recipes out there that use flour and other simple ingredients instead of potato, so making homemade gluten-free gnocchi is a totally doable option.
How To Serve Air Fryer Gnocchi
- Enjoy these as a fun and filling snack to dip in marinara sauce, Garlic Parmesan dip, or Truffle Mayo.
- This would be an easy appetizer served with basil pesto, Broccoli Pesto, Kale and Pistachio Pesto, ranch, or your favorite sauce.
- You could serve these little potato pillows as a side dish alongside Herb and Citrus Chicken or a Ribeye Steak Sandwich with Caramelized Onions and Herb Mayo.
Can I Make This in Advance
You can make these about 4 days in advance, but the results may not be quite the same as they sit in the fridge or freezer and collect moisture. To bring them back to their crispy texture, pop them back in the air fryer for about 5 minutes and enjoy!
What About Leftovers
The leftover gnocchi (if you have any) will last for 4 days when stored in the fridge in an airtight container. You can also store them in a freezer-safe container or a Ziploc bag for up to 3 months. Be sure to bring to room temperature before storing. Reheat in the air fryer for about 5 minutes to bring back the crispy exterior.
