You can buy Dijonnaise sauce in stores, but why would you do it when you can make your own in 5 minutes using the ingredients you know and trust? This creamy mustard sauce is bold and full of umami flavor and is one that I go back to time and time again because it’s just that good. It is the perfect sauce for spreading on so many healthy recipes like burgers or sandwiches, as a dipping sauce for chicken breasts or chicken tender, or with crispy fries or your favorite roasted veggies like Brussels sprouts or green beans. - Mayonnaise: You can use a good-quality storebought mayonnaise or make your own. Making homemade mayo is incredibly quick and easy.
- Dijon Mustard: Although Dijon is my mustard of choice, and it is obviously in the name, you can use different types of mustard, like honey mustard, yellow mustard, spicy mustard, or whole grain mustard, too.
- Fresh garlic clove: You will want to ensure you mince the garlic nicely to release all the delicious garlicky flavor. You can also use pre-minced garlic.
- Lemon juice: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice provides the perfect acidic kick for this tangy sauce. You can also use store-bought lemon juice.

- Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and store in the fridge or serve immediately.
- If you’re going to whisk this, be sure to mince the garlic really well. An immersion blender or food processor is a great way to get a creamy texture.

- Use store-bought mayo or make homemade mayo, or use vegan mayo as a swap for regular mayo.
- Try this easy sauce with regular yellow mustard, spicy mustard, grainy mustard, or honey mustard.
- Add a dash of black pepper, white pepper, paprika or cayenne for extra spice.

Storage Tips
You can make this about a week in advance, so it really is the perfect meal prep spread to be used all week long. Store it in an airtight container or glass jar and refrigerate immediately. When you bring it out to use it next time, give it a good stir. This isn’t the kind of sauce you can freeze because mayo does not thaw well, and the consistency won’t be the same.

Ingredients
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup dijon
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
This was really tasty! I served it with a roast ham and it was a wonderful pairing of flavor. I plan to use leftovers for sandwiches this week.
